Leave Condolences or a Tribute

2013-09-20 21:15:40 Jennifer was an absolutely amazing wife, mother of three and friend to anyone. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. A strong Christian woman and a saint, many would say. Losing her was hard for many, but she was ready and knew it was God's plan.

After having a double mastectomy and lymph node biopsy, she was diagnosed with stage IV DCIS (breast cancer). Thirteen of the 16 lymph nodes removed came back positive for cancer. Despite the prognosis, she and her family kept their spirits high. They maintained their faith that she could be healed.

After she "...suffered for a little while, [God] restored [her] and made [her] strong, firm and steadfast" when she was called home to Him.

What a legacy she left as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and woman of amazing strength and faith. She never once doubted that God was in control of her life and her cancer-ridden body and she knew that He was with her through the entire journey and would use her story to glorify Him no matter how it ended. But the beautiful thing is that her story isn't over. Her story continues to live on through the lives that she impacted while she was here, the lives of her children, friends and family.

"Joy is not the absence of suffering, but the presence of God."

I first met Jen when we were pregnant with Aaron and Chris. We were instant friends. The more I got to know her, the more I liked. She was genuine, funny and fun. Most important of course was our sisterhood in Christ. But we were alike in many ways. We both adored motherhood, though we complained as much as we rejoiced over the blessing of our children. Kindred spirits we were. I do miss her, knowing how much fun we could have "raising" grandchildren together --yours are precious, Jennifer, and we'll have lots to talk about one day. Soon! (not getting any younger here)Looking forward to it ♥

Remember meeting Jennifer for the first time when I was dropping Mason off for his first trip with Campus Life. A little anxiety for me as a first time mom but she was so sweet and understanding. Will never forget her.
